This movie was actually pretty damn good I dont see how people thought it was bad. Rest in peace, Scatman Crothers. In the movie script, his mother gave this strange, psychic intelligence a name. she called it Shining. His downplayed role was crucial in this movie. THIS SCENE WAS CRAZY. 2:21 HERE'S JOHNNY. God, this scene is so good. This was an excellent final showdown Rose not knowing the evil that lurks in this hotel and what it does to psychics Hell of a comeuppance. This scene alone shows how powerful Abra is. Rose didn't stand a chance...

Ok i laughed my ass off when I saw his face on shelly devall saying danny. Jack's voice over would make this fantastic. Finally after so many years. THEY WERE PLANNING A SEQUEL TO DOCTOR SLEEP. Until the box office numbers came in 😭😭😭 I wanted to see so much more from this world! This movie Deserved to make at least 300 million at the box office. That Jack Torrance is Henry Thomas, usual collaborator to Mike Flanagan. Great scene and great director. This movie was fantastic, Mike Flanagan did such a great job with adapting The Shining and Doctor Sleep novels and Stanley Kubricks timeless adaptation, he somehow managed to please both Stephen King and Kubrick fans at the same time which is very difficult. Also im convinced that Rose the Hat is actually a physical manifestation of Randall Flagg aka The Man in Black from The Dark Towers Universe and The Stand, or possibly Flagg was her mentor, but they are definitely connected.

It was a brilliant film i think they should of used the ending from the book were dan lives and his dad jack waves good bye as he holds of the ghosts from the overlook before it blows. I kept on thinking about Pokemon type effectiveness during this movie. Like ghosts are super effective against psychic types but Rose the Hat was almost more of a dark type. My supervisor told me about this movie today. so glad they're making it.

Despite age, or mental deterioration or whatever that poor soul is going through, Shelley will always be that beautiful, talented, sweet and intelligent lady Ive admired my whole life. ❤️ Her creating Faerie Tale Theatre and performing as Olive Oil brought me so much joy as a child. THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME LOVED IT. He may have peaked in E.T., but I've always thought Henry Thomas to an underrated actor, and this short but chilling scene only confirms that, I think. Now of course he's no Nicholson, but that's sort of the point here. He's not playing Jack Nicholson. He's playing Jack Torrance! And what worse and yet also most appropriate fate than to spend all eternity as bartender of the gold room? In a way it reaffirms what most fans have always felt about Nicholson and Kubrick's take on the character. That Jack was a bastard long before the Torrance's ever came to the Overlook. He had no redeeming features to speak of, as in the novel. He was just a weak, angry, selfish drunk who resented his family, and the hotel took full advantage of that, turning him into a kind of puppet. It's also a really tragic moment because Dan realizes that try as might, his father is beyond saving. He's become a part of the Overlook now. But the animosity is still there. Toxic as ever. But Dan's not the same man his father was. He may struggle with the same addiction as his father, but he doesn't have to suffer the same fate. He's better than that. One day at a time.

Just came home from the movie, and goddamn, as a fan of both the novel and the Kubrik film, that third act was just beautiful. Ive legit been looking for this scene every day since the day i saw the movie on the theater. Thanks. Hello there.
